Sammy
Rabbit is a Financial Education initiative initially introduced by AFAS in 2007 to
address the spike in financial assistance requests from service members and their
families. Offered under AFAS’s Community Enhancement programs for Youth/Spouses,
this successful initiative targets youth (preschoolers and up) and their families
and offers military families a "Savings Message" that contributes to stronger
financial education programs nationwide.
In 2007 and 2008, AFAS worked with Airman and Family Readiness Centers to bring Sammy
the Rabbit to 34 Air Force bases. Over 16,000 children and adults participated in
the interactive presentations. For more information about "Sammy Rabbit",
please visit the website http://www.itsahabit.com.
Students,
teachers and parents all agree that Sam Renick’s program is very valuable, educational
and fun. Sammy knows how to reach our kids. Our thanks to the Air Force Aid Society for
sponsoring the program at Moron AB.
